Use of Github and Linkedin

Here we will briefly describe about the use of two most popular professional networking sites Linkedin and Github .

The interesting part is that these two are now owned by Microsoft.
Microsoft has acquired Linkedin for an amount $26.2 Billion in 2016 and Github for $7.5 Billion in 2018.

First what is Linkedin?

LinkedIn is a business and employment-oriented service that operates via websites and mobile apps. Founded on December 28, 2002, and launched on May 5, 2003, it is mainly used for professional networking, including employers posting jobs and job seekers posting their CVs.

Its a platform to make connections with professionals , follow Companies for their Job Postings,Internships ,Learn from their Learning Solutions,SlideShare Platform and many more.

You can build your Professional Resume by adding your skills,projects,Accomplishments,Work Positions and so on..

Next what is Github?

GitHub Inc. is a web-based hosting service for version control using Git. It is mostly used for computer code. It offers all of the distributed version control and source code management functionality of Git as well as adding its own features.

In simple words,GitHub is a code hosting platform for version control and collaboration. It lets you and others work together on projects from anywhere. Apart from this it can also be used to host your personal blogs,portfolio websites,etc.It also has Github for Education(Classrooms),Organizations and a good community.

Now-a-days Github is used as platform to show case your projects,contributions to open source projects and Companies recruiting their employees based on their Github Profile where you can learn the abilities of an Employee directly with seeing their Resume/CV.

So its mandatory(Helpful) for every student to have a Github Handle and showcase their talent.
